Dear Dad,
As I sat down to write you one of our patented family-tradition homemade Siegel birthday cards, I had the idea to list out 80 memories of you and I together, whether it be from my childhood or as an adult. I was shocked how quickly and easily memories came streaming back to me – things I hadn’t thought of in years, and suddenly, within minutes the list reached 80.
I could have kept going and going all night long and still, the card would be incomplete. You have brought so many precious memories to my life, you have been there during the highest highs and stood by me during the lowest of lows. You have held my children when they were barely a day old, passed the Torah to me on my Bar Mitzvah, and we cried together at the passing of our loved ones. You have been a shoulder to lean on as we learned about autism together, and convinced me that as difficult as life can sometimes become, this too will pass – and land on our feet we will.
You have been an amazing father, always supportive and taught us a thing or two about unconditional love. You will always be with me, and I with you. I love you dearly – Happy Birthday Dad!!
Love,
Lenny
